Four nights
in Miami

byrne.buzz

This was the plan. The trip happened 22–26 August 2026 — what we actually did is in the archive.

Four nights in Miami

IN  ·  SAT 22 AUG  ·  AA 369  ·  MIA 16:21
OUT  ·  WED 26 AUG  ·  AA 1842  ·  MIA 17:10

You are here during Miami Spice. Aug 1 – Sep 30, 25th year, 300+ restaurants on set menus: $40 lunch, $50 or $65 dinner. Macchialina, Motek and The Henry are all on it. Bunbury is on it too — $50 for three courses, if the Saturday table wants it.

01Sat 22 Aug
16:21

MIA · Terminal DAirport

AA 369, arrives 4:21pm. Bags, then about 25 minutes home in normal traffic. Nothing is scheduled before 8 — that is deliberate. Shower, unpack, sit down for ten minutes. You have four nights; you do not need to win the first hour of the first one.

20:00

BunburyA&E Districtbooked · 8pm

Argentine, dinner and a real wine list. 55 NE 14th St, in the Arts & Entertainment District — the pocket just north of Downtown, south of Wynwood. Open Sat 10:30am–11:30pm. Bold Malbecs against Argentine steak, duck confit, grandma’s recipes and eight kinds of empanada; on Miami Spice at $50 for three courses if the table wants it. Named after the imaginary friend Oscar Wilde’s characters invent to get out of things. Short walk to Kaona after.

Maps

Confirmed — Sat 22 Aug, 8:00pm, three of us. Which settles the 6pm question: a 4:21pm landing does not leave room for it once you count bags, the drive and a shower, and the room is yours until 11:30 if the table wants to sit.

22:00

Kaona RoomA&E Districtbooked · 10pm

Tiki speakeasy hidden behind The Leinster Irish Pub — the door is deliberately unmarked and you are expected to find it yourself. 1600 NE 1st Ave, same neighbourhood as Bunbury, five minutes on foot. Fri–Sat until 2am, closed Sun, Mon and Tue, so tonight is the only night it is open all trip. Booked: 10:00pm. Two hours at Bunbury, then the walk over. Space is five blocks south of here when you are done.

LIVMid-Beachthe pickJared’s in

Loud Luxury. Fontainebleau, 4441 Collins Ave. Doors 11:30pm. LIV runs Thu–Sun only, so it is tonight or Sunday and nothing after — and Loud Luxury is the better of the two bookings. Biggest room in the city, dress properly, and go in knowing it is a spectacle rather than a music night.

Maps
02:00

Club SpacePark Westbest booking

Loco Dice b2b Seth Troxler on the Terrace. 34 NE 11th St, doors 11pm, from $30, runs to sunrise. This is the strongest single booking of the entire week and it is not competing with LIV — it is the second half of the same night. Arriving at 2am is not late here, it is correct.

Maps

The honest Saturday order

You asked which of the three is actually the best Saturday. Straight answer, with the reasoning.

  1. LIV — Loud Luxury. Leads the night. Not because it is the best music on offer, but because it is the only one of the three with a real deadline: LIV is dark Mon–Wed, so it is tonight or Sunday, and tonight is the better booking. It also suits a night that starts late after a flight. Doors 11:30pm.
  2. Club Space — Loco Dice b2b Seth Troxler. Best booking of the week, full stop. Two headline names playing back-to-back on the Terrace until sunrise. On pure merit this outranks everything else on this page. It sits second only because it runs latest, so it loses nothing by going second — and it is a five-block walk from Kaona, which LIV is not.
  3. Do Not Sit On The Furniture — Unders. Genuinely good, and still the one to drop. Confirmed headliner, 423 16th St, doors 10pm, from $24, 21+. Best-sounding and least-nonsense room of the three — small, dark, organic and melodic house, no bottle-service theatre. It loses on geography alone: it is on the beach, and the LIV → Space line already crosses the causeway once. Take it instead of LIV if you would rather have a small room than a big one.

The easier version, if you would rather not cross the causeway twice. Skip LIV tonight, walk Kaona → Space, and catch LIV on Sunday for Boston Richey instead. Fewer cars, better music, one neighbourhood all night. The only thing you give up is the better of the two LIV bookings. It is a real option and it is genuinely close.

Also open tonight

  • E11EVEN · Don Toliver, live — 29 NE 11th St, 8pm–10am, 21+, from $55. He plays Kaseya Center the same night, so this is the official afterparty. Next door to Space, if the Terrace ever needs a break.
  • Komodo Lounge — 801 Brickell Ave, 11pm–4am.
  • Do Not Sit is covered in the ranking above, not here — it is a real contender tonight rather than a fallback.

Gun rangeWynwood edgeJared’s in

Venue still being locked. Photo ID required wherever we end up; every option rents firearms and is open Sunday.

Michael confirms the venue Sunday morning. Shortlist: Lock & Load, 2545 N Miami Ave — Sun 11am–6pm, everything supplied, closest, best if you have not done it before. Florida Gun Center, Hialeah — Sun 10–6. Warrior, Doral — Sun 10–6. Stone Hart’s, Kendall — Sun 10–6.

15:30

Sip & PickleWynwoodthe pickleball

Five pickleball courts dropped into the middle of an open-air market: murals, food vendors, cocktail bars, a DJ, 75,000 square feet of it. 2250 NW 2nd Ave — their own site also lists 318 NW 23rd St, same complex, different gate. $40 an hour per court, up to four players, booked at sipandpickle.com; walk-ups get on if a court is free. Sunday from noon.

Maps

The Marketplace only publishes Fri/Sat/Sun hours, and Sunday is firmly one of them. Courts get taken over by ticketed theme nights sometimes — call (305) 461-2700 or just book the hour online.

16:45

Oasis WynwoodWynwoodthe containers

This is the container place — and it is not the same address as the pickleball, which is the one correction worth having. Oasis is 2335 N Miami Ave: dining built into stacked shipping containers, a container Tower Bar, dumplings, pizza, tacos, a courtyard stage. The courts are at the Marketplace, four hundred metres west. Five minutes on foot between them, so you get both in one afternoon and never move the car.

Maps

Oasis publishes no hours anywhere, including on its own site. It is 400 metres from where you already are, so it costs nothing to walk over and look.

17:45

SottoVoceEdgewaterthe wine speakeasy

Two corrections, both useful. It is SottoVoce, one word, and it is not in Wynwood2830 NE 2nd Ave, three blocks east, on the Edgewater/Midtown line, down the alley behind Chimba. Follow the red light. Italian aperitivo wine garden: outdoor, strung with lights, a curated Italian list and charcuterie built for sharing. Closed Mondays, so tonight and Tuesday are the only shots.

Maps

Resy has the whole evening open — fifteen-minute slots from 4:00 to 10:00pm for three, outdoor garden. Walk-ins are welcome too, seating is just limited. Ten minutes from here to the marina, so leaving at 7:10 makes the 7:30 sailing comfortably.

19:30

Prosecco Cruise · Regal MarinaMiami RiverJared’s in

Miami River. 2215 NW 14th St. 1h45m, unlimited prosecco, 21+. Take the 7:30 sailing, not the 5:30. Sunset on the 23rd is 7:50pm, so it lands about twenty minutes in. The 5:30 boat is back at the dock before dark.

Maps

Not booked yet. Sunday 7:30pm, headcount TBC.

23:30

LIV · Boston RicheyMid-Beach

Fontainebleau again, 4441 Collins Ave. Last night LIV is open on this trip. Skip it without regret if Saturday already covered it.

Also open tonight

  • E11EVEN · DJ Stretch — 29 NE 11th St, 24/7, 21+.
  • Floyd · Groovers Only: Classmatic + Alves — 34 NE 11th St, 11pm. Downstairs at Space; the Sunday house room, and the best-value ticket of the night.
  • Nikki Beach — 1 Ocean Dr. Sunday runs late; the daytime-into-night option if the boat leaves you wanting more sun than more bass.
  • 1-800-Lucky · Humans Alike — 143 NW 23rd St, Wynwood, from 6pm. Free, outdoors, food hall attached — the softest landing on this list.
  • Closed Sunday: Kaona Room, The Leinster, Club Space Terrace, Do Not Sit, Panamericano.

Coral GablesCoral GablesJared asked

Miracle Mile is four blocks of Coral Way between LeJeune and Douglas: Mediterranean-revival facades, wide tree-lined sidewalks, alfresco everything. One block north, Giralda Plaza is a permanently pedestrianised restaurant alley — string lights, a dozen patios side by side, and the better of the two if you actually want to sit down. Do the Mile on foot, land on Giralda for a drink. Twenty-five minutes back to Alton Rd, so leave by 7:15 for Macchialina.

Maps Maps

On the crypto-litigation guy. I went looking specifically for outdoor advertising — billboards, bus benches, radio — and could not confirm a single crypto lawyer running any of it in this market. Outdoor ads are badly indexed online, so it may well exist and Jared may well have seen it; I am just not going to name someone as an advertiser without proof. For what it is worth, the names that actually own crypto litigation down here are Adam Moskowitz’s firm out in Kendall, who ran the FTX celebrity-promoter class action against Brady and O’Leary, and Silver Miller up in Broward. Neither advertises. Keep your eyes up on the Mile and we settle it in person.

Two Gables things that do not work tonight: the Venetian Pool is daytime only and shut Mondays, and the Biltmore Bar runs Thu–Sat. Fontana, the Biltmore courtyard restaurant, is open nightly 6–10 if you want the hotel anyway — the 1926 lobby is worth walking through and costs nothing.

20:00

MacchialinaSouth BeachAllie is in

Rustic Italian, Michelin-listed, and the one dinner this week that is a genuine event. 820 Alton Rd, Miami Beach. Mon–Thu 6–10pm, dinner only. On Miami Spice at $50. Small room — book on Resy now. A late-August Monday is the easiest night we could have picked.

Maps

Their own site says 810 Alton Rd; every map service says 820. Call (305) 534-2124 to confirm before you walk.

Also open tonight

Thinnest club night of the week, so this is the whole list rather than a shortlist.

  • E11EVEN · Chizzle — 29 NE 11th St, 24/7, 21+. The only real nightclub open in the city, and Mondays there are legitimately busy.
  • M2 · Industry Sessions — 1235 Washington Ave, 9pm. Miami’s hospitality-industry Monday; a scene without tourists in it.
  • El Patio Wynwood · Pegaito Mondays — 167 NW 23rd St, till 3am. Latin, outdoors, no pretence.
  • Closed Monday: LIV, Club Space, Floyd, Kaona, The Leinster, Bunbury, Do Not Sit, Komodo, Panamericano.

Azteca, and the walk backOcean Dr

Walk out to it. Nachos, margaritas, seats basically on the sidewalk, and the best people-watching on the beach. 1058 Collins Ave. Then walk back north and cut through Española Way — which is the entire reason to go on foot.

Walk-up tiki window — frozen daiquiris and hot dogs, and nothing more complicated than that. 1144 Ocean Dr, daily 10am–midnight. One block east of Azteca, so it costs nothing to fold into the walk before you cut back through Española Way.

CVI.CHE 105DowntownJared has to

The one he has to be taken to. 105 NE 3rd Ave, downtown, open every day, 11:30am–10pm on a Tuesday. Juan Chipoco’s Peruvian institution, ten years in: ceviche made to order across the full range of leches de tigre, plus anticuchos, acevichado rolls and lomo saltado, in a bright white room. The happy-hour menu is real and cheap — apps $9–14, wine $7, beer $6, cocktails $10. Five minutes from Motek.

Maps

Call first: 305-577-3454. They publish the happy-hour menu but not the hours it runs — not on the site, not anywhere. They are also not on the OpenTable booking network, so this is a phone call or a walk-in either way. Worth the ninety seconds.

The honest risk is two dinners in one evening. If Azteca ran long, keep 105 to a couple of ceviches at the bar and treat it as the aperitivo — or do 105 properly and drop Motek. Both are good; doing both fully is a mistake.

19:30

MotekBrickell

Modern Israeli, and one of our favourite rooms in the city. 701 S Miami Ave #412A, fourth floor of Brickell City Centre. Mon–Thu until 10pm, so 7:30 is the right start. On Miami Spice. Books through SevenRooms.

Deadest club night of the week. Brickell is the play, and it is already the plan.

  • E11EVEN · Richard Fraioli — 29 NE 11th St, 24/7, 21+. Again, basically the only club running.
  • Gekko Lounge · Mario Duran — 8 SW 8th St, 11pm. Lounge scale, not a club — and a four-minute walk from Blue Martini, which is the only reason it is on this list.
  • El Patio Wynwood · Las Fabulosas — 167 NW 23rd St.
  • Closed Tuesday: LIV, Club Space, Floyd, Kaona, The Leinster, Do Not Sit, Macchialina’s Spice menu is Mon–Thu so that one is fine.
  • Honest read: do not chase a club tonight.
